Our frequently asked questions:

  • Q - When can I start???
  • A - This is our most commonly asked question, and we love to hear it! You may start your training immediately. The benefit of a one-to-one training approach is that the timing and schedule is based solely on you.
  • Q - Do I need a medical?
  • A - Yes. You'll need a 3D Class FAA medical certificate to participate in any flight training. We will be happy to refer you to a local examiner, or help you locate one in your area if you will be coming in from out-of-town.
  • Q - Are there any physical requirements?
  • A - Yes. Weight is the most critical; the maximum weight in the R-22 is 240 pounds per seat. Vision is another issue we hear about frequently - as long as it's correctable to 20/20 with glasses or contacts, you'll be fine. If in doubt, please see an FAA designed medical examiner to determine whether you can pass a 3D Class exam.
  • Q - Where do I take my FAA exam?
  • A - Reliance Aviation, the one-side FBO with which we're affiliated, offers an FAA-approved testing center right next door to our hangars.
